Jason Howe Attends American Auditory Society Meeting

Yankton, SD–Audiologist Jason R. Howe, MS, FAAA, CCC-A of the Yankton Medical Clinic, PC recently attended the American Auditory Society’s 52nd Annual Scientific & Technology Conference.  This meeting is designed for audiologists, neurologists, neurotologists, otolaryngologists, oto-neurologists, scientists, engineers, and students in the areas of hearing, hearing loss, dizziness, tinnitus, and hearing aids. Topics included:  Using the parallel auditory brainstem response to obtain a fast and accurate diagnosis; Pre-fitting determinants of hearing aid persistence; Effects of hearing intervention on white matter hyperintensity volume; Impact of cochlear implant use on comprehension and listening effort; Improving the diagnosis of otitis media and associated hearing loss in children; Understanding individual variability among older adults with hearing loss; Listening in noise in your second language; and Potential uses for intracochlear electrocochleography.
